h. pruz – After always
Hannah Pruzinsky drops “After Always” ahead of “Red sky at morning”, the album they co-produced with Felix Walworth from Florist and Told Slant. The track moves slowly, built around chiming acoustic guitar and resonator that creates space for Pruzinsky’s voice to drift through. Walworth handles drums and resonator, while Jonnie Baker plays bass, giving the song a gentle push without crowding it.
Pruzinsky calls it a song about what comes after forever ends with someone. The production keeps things minimal—acoustic guitar from Pruzinsky, Walworth’s resonator adding texture, drums that barely register until you need them. Josh Bonati mastered it, and the whole thing feels patient, like it’s in no rush to get anywhere.
The video, directed by Pruzinsky’s cousin Molly Schenkenberger, pulls from “The Wicker Man” (1973). Masked figures dance and march toward fire, which Pruzinsky says connects to how they think about endings. It’s dream logic that matches the song’s unhurried pace.
“Red sky at morning” arrives November 7 on Mtn. Laurel Recording Co., with a companion RPG book called “Sailor’s Warning”. Previous singles “Arrival” and “Krista” showed different sides of the album, but “After Always” might be the most stripped-back track yet. Worth keeping an eye on this one.
